TVS Jupiter 125: To me I think TVS Jupiter 125 is made for the modern Indian family. Boasting bigger units yet maintaining the same level of quality and refinement as the best-selling 110 variant of the Jupiter, the 125cc is a value-for-money modern day 125cc Family Scooter.
Destined to make a strong impact in the 125 cc segment of the Indian Scooter market (also Jupiter’s own key segment), the Jupiter 125 comes with a fresh body, new features and updated ride dynamics compared to the regular Jupiter.
Traffic. com is easy to manage and maneuver, the Jupiter 125 adds a slight sprinting by a smootly modern deisgn with little extras to spice up your life.
Design and Styling
TVS has left the Jupiter 125 styling simple, understated, and mature that its audience will love. Its design is meaner and meatier than the 110cc version.
In the front, its minimalist-styling headlamp embedded with LED DRLs, large front apron and also the fit not finish chrome treatments makes it look more classy.
On the side, we see, clean designs with straight lines, body colored ORVMS with seamlessly incorporated turn indicators. At the rear there are LED tail lamps with a contemporary design.
The overall design of the bike comes across as very balanced— neither too sporty nor too bland — and suitable for both younger and more mature riders.
Comfort and Storage
One of the most notable attributes of the TVS Jupiter 125 is its comfort element. The large seat provides very good comfort for both the rider and the pillion.
There’s plenty of room on the footboard, and thanks to the upright riding position, it’s comfortable for everyday riding.
Storage is another bright spot. And with the fuel tank being such a unique shape — and repositioned under the seat — the storage is about as good as it gets in the segment.
TVS has made way for a under-seat storage that can hold one full size helmet, and some other stuff as well by placing the fuel tank under the floorboard.
A convenient external fuel filling cap near the footboard means there is no need to lift the seat to refuel.
And the daypack features a front utility box, bag hook and optional USB charger to increase everyday utility.
Engine and Performance
The Jupiter 125 is powered by a 124.8cc air-cooled, single-cylinder that makes close to 8.2 PS power and 10.5 Nm of torque.
Granted, the numbers aren’t class-leading but the engine focuses on being smooth, refined and fuel-efficient.
It responds linearly to the throttle and its sweet spot is around the city. There is no struggle for the motor even with a pillion and it is easy to overtake at city speeds.
The CVT transmission is creamy and free of jerk during acceleration and deceleration.
It’s no performance scooter, but it’s quite simply ideal for everyday riding with a relaxed and comfortable character.
Ride Quality and Handling
The Jupiter 125 is equipped with a telescopic front and a three-step adjustable gas-charged rear shock.
The suspension has been set-up well for Indian roads and it soaks up potholes and speed breakers effectively.
It even offers a planted ride over rough patches, and that’s perfect for the family.
The scooter is confidence-inspiring at moderate speeds, with predictable handling characteristics.
The wide seat and fine weight balance contribute to enhanced balance, in particular through turns and when packed.
The braking setup comprises of front disc and drum brakes at the rear (on top trim levels) which offer a strong stopping power.

TVS Jupiter 125: Final Verdict
But if comfort and practicality are priorities over out and out speed I recommend the TVS Jupiter 125.
And with thoughtful features, a polished engine and family-friendly cabin, it checks all the right boxes for daily use.
It definitely isn’t the shiniest or fastest scooter, but it makes up for that with affordability, practicality and daily usability.
