Nissan Maginte Facelift: The Nissan Magnite Facelift launches soon with new updates to one of the most value-for-money compact SUVs in India.
Ever since it was first inaugurated, the Magnite has consistently given consumers the feel of upmarket features, ample space inside and peppy performance at a more than a slightly competitive price.
With those upgrades, Nissan is hoping to push the envelope in design, technology and comfort without breaking the bank.
In a segment filled with marquee names such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza, the refreshed Magnite is expected to refrain and excite, especially amongst young buyers and first-time SUV owners.
Design: New Design with More Defined Details
The updated Nissan Magnite gets minor but significant revisions in terms of its exterior that make it look more modern and aggressive.
The former gets a new chrome surround and mesh pattern. The bumper is sleeker and there’s sportier cuts that give the SUV a stronger road presence.
The LED headlamps design is more aerodynamic now and so are the new LED DRLs which give a more futuristic appeal. The fog lamp housing on the Nissan Magnite is also new and so are the alloy wheel patterns.
Smoked tail lamps and a redesigned bumper at rear make the SUV look more sophisticated overall.
The facelift preserves the compact proportions but adds a bit of style and premium quality but still has that city-focussed appeal for those who live in the city.
Updated Interior for Today’s Features
The materials used are of a better overall quality and a host of new tech has been added inside the Nissan Magnite Facelift.
The dashboard design is the same, however, it now gets minor upgrades like soft-touch panels, upholstery with a new theme, and a more upmarket looking steering wheel.
The interior tweak is the upgrade of the infotainment system to a 9-inch touchscreen one that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
There’s a more comprehensive set of driving info you’re able to see on the refreshed digital instrument cluster, and Nissan advanced the UI response as well.
Features like the wireless phone charger, rear AC vents, 360-degree camera and ambient lighting are also on offer on the higher trims.
lthough economy models come with basic details, higher trims get a downright luxurious cabin at a bargain price.
Powertrains and Performance
The facelift carries on with the existing engine lineup:
N.A 1.0L Petrol (72 PS, 96 Nm) – 5 MT
1.0L turbo petrol (100 PS, 160 Nm) – available with 5-speed manual and CVT
The NA engine is still adequate for sedate city driving, but the turbo-petrol version offers much better performance especially on highways and for inclines.
The gearbox is CVT one and smooth to operate, but it is no spirited driver.
Ride quality continues to feel composed, with suspension that’s set up to cope with nearly all of your standard urban tarmac lumps and bumps.
It also steers lightly, making the size of the SUV easy to manage in confined areas, and contributes to its urban usability.

Safety and Practicality
It is still equipped with the following safety features as well:
Twin Airbags – 6 Airbags in upper variants
ABS with EBD
Vehicle dynamic control (VDC)

Rear auto with sensors and camera
TPMS(Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)
It’s well built for the price, and Nissan has looked to improve cabin insulation and refinement levels with the facelift.
Pros
Updated, more aggressive exterior styling
Well-appointed cabin with modern features
Peppy performance from turbo engine
Stellar value for its class
Small and manoeuvrable for the city
Cons
No diesel engine option
CVT lacks punch when you floor it
Base models are still basic
Some of the interior plastics are on the average side
Smaller service pool compared to the competition
